Oklahoma & Back Again!

Ella & I recently spent 1 1/2 weeks in Oklahoma visiting NaNa & PaPa, Auntie Kristy, Gramms & Papa, and Aunt Teresa, Aunt Missy, and Aunt Leisa & cousins (lots of other family members)!! Oh what fun we had!  We swam with Nana, we saw the cows at Gramms & Papa's, ate sushi with Auntie Kristy and went to David Hardy's wedding!  Oklahoma was very good to us! Lots of shopping, good food and late nights with friends! Ella was such a star- who wouldn't love this face?

I loved swimming with NaNa

I'm cute & I know it!
And now we are back with daddy in Minneapolis! Jon just completed his first week of call as an IR fellow and it wasn't too bad! Aside from really long days- he wasn't called in at night!! Wooo hoo! Things are starting to fall into place here! The house is settled, I have found the Costco & Super Target here and we love the area we live in. Hopefully we will survive the winter!

My dad got his "mini bone marrow transplant" at Baylor on Thursday and seems to be in great spirits! Ella loved getting to spend some time with him before he left! We are praying that this transplant takes and that PaPa starts to feel better soon! We did a mini photo shoot!
I love my PaPa (He just ate a cherry popsicle)

He's so funny!

He plays toys with me!

Apple of his eye!

So overall life is good with us Krazy Kirklands! We are very busy- Ella continues to learn new tricks everyday (she can now push herself backwards on her tummy)! Jon continues to work longs days, but has learned so much in the past 3 weeks and knows that there is light at the end of the tunnel (49 more weeks to be exact)! I am a Pinterest addict and now craft during Ella's naps! We miss our friends and family dearly but will see them soon!

5 Months Old

Today Miss Ella is 5 months old!!  Oh where does the time go?? It seems like it was just yesterday that we were on our way to the hospital after the Superbowl to welcome Miss Ella Lillian Kirkland into this world! She has rocked our world, turned it upside down, caused us many sleepless nights- but filled it with so much love, joy, laughter, and so many smiles! I love her to pieces and so does Jon, we can't imagine her not being around to wake us up at 7am! (or sometimes earlier)

I love my new play gym!! Can't touch the bottom yet...but soon :)

Watching Sesame Street
Who you looking at??
I'll feed myself thank you very much!

I love you Kristy, Teresa, Missy & Leisa!!

Ella is growing like a weed!! She is 14.5 lbs and 25 inches long!! She's somewhere in the 30-40% for height & weight.  But her head, oh that big noggin! It's in the 55%! Hopefully she got all her daddy's smart brains in there! She loves toys that light up colors, and play music! She also loves TV (she got that from her daddy)!  Me and Ella have spent most of our recent days inside due to the extreme heat! (I thought I moved to a cold place??? 99 degrees??) We play and laugh, we sing, we nap and then usually cook some dinner! In the evenings we go and explore the area around our condo!  The cheese guy & head baker at Lund's grocery store both love Ella, so we usually stop by there & pick up a treat or two.  There's a park with a kiddo pool a couple blocks away and I have a feeling we will be going there next week when the temperature is only in the 80's! Sometimes we just walk along the streets and let the college kids oooohhh & awwww over Miss Ella.  It's a pretty good life being a stay-at-home mommy!

Jon started work this week and has been extremely busy!  It looks like he will have longs days, and longs nights when he's on call! He seems to really like the people and the hospital though, plus he's getting great exposure to lots of different cases. He's very thankful to have this weekend off! We will have to do something fun!

Ella & I will venture to Oklahoma next week to visit with family and attend a friends wedding. NaNa has her pool and swing ready for Miss Ella!  So look out Oklahoma.....here we come!

Oh yeah- and I'm a Big Girl now! I can roll over from my back to my tummy!! Look out world...here I come! I'll be crawling soon enough :)
