Oh what a trip it was!!!

Oh what an adventurous trip we had!! After cramming both vehicles & a 26ft Pennske truck full to the brim--we waved goodbye to Chicago & headed north/west towards Minneapolis! 2 days- 2- hotels- 1 dog- 1 baby & 1 set of in laws later.....we made it!! And with no speeding tickets to prove it! Ella even got to swim for the first time! And boy did she love that!! Her car seat, well not so much! She may need therapy after the "trauma" she felt she suffered during the 7 hour trip! I've never met a baby who hated her carseat so much during that trip!

So far everyone has been super nice & welcoming here in Minnesota! I love our new place- its basically right on the university of Minnesota's campus & within walking distance to many shops, restaurants & parks! Ella and I will have a grand time exploring....once we get unpacked that is! :) Ella is growing like a weed! She smiles all the time, coos & talks to us, puts everything in her mouth, and has started laughing!! It is such a joy being her mommy! She's advanced from rice cereal to sweet potatoes! This girl loves to eat! We celebrated Jon's 31st Birthday at the Mall of America! That place is HUGE!! Jon starts his fellowship Monday & is both anxious, nervous, and ready to get this show on the road. So I'd say the Kirklands are going to do well in Minneapolis!!  Pictures of the condo to come...... but do keep in mind that we have  spare bedroom waiting for you all to visit!

Goodbye Chicago! Hello Minneapolis!

We're Moving Again!!

Jon finally graduated from his Radiology residency in Chicago after five years! Whew- does time fly by or what? It seems like yesterday we were packing up our U-Haul, leaving Oklahoma and heading to the Windy City!! We've experienced a lot here and have truly grown to love this city.  We bought our first house here, we sold our first house here, I got my first job here, Jon evacuated his first hospital here, we dyed the river green, we climbed to the top of the tallest building, we shopped till we dropped and we ate the deepest dish pizza you can imagine, but the best Chicago experience will forever be- our daughter Ella Lillian Kirkland.

We will miss Chicago and all of our amazing friends very much!!  We will be moving to Minneapolis Minnesota in 3 days for Jon to train to be an interventional radiologist. This will be Jon's final year of training. (I told him I'm done moving all around) So from Windy City- to lots of snow.... here we go on our new adventure!  That's all for now, as I have to pack/pack/pack!! The movers will be here Saturday! I hope you enjoy following us next year as we explore Minnesota, the mall of America, and all of the joys & tears a growing baby has to offer!!
